도시를 가득 채우는 네온사인은 우리 사회에 만연한 자본주의를 상징한다. 넘쳐나는 네온사인은 우리의 생활 공간을 포함한 모든 것의 소비와 상품화에 대한 공격적인 추진을 반영한다. 나무에서 떨어지는 수많은 네온사인은 점멸하며 사라진다. 이것은 소비 시스템이 지속 불가능하고 궁극적으로 자기 파괴적임을 나타내는 징후이며 네온사인의 아름다움은 수명이 짧고 네온사인이 장식하는 건물의 내부 현실은 종종 과소비, 낭비, 불평등 중 하나이기 때문이다.


The neon signs that fill the city symbolize capitalism that rampant in our society. The overflowing neon signs reflect the aggressive drive for the consumption and commercialization of everything, including our living space. The neon signs that fall from trees flash and disappear. This is a sign that the current consumption system is unsustainable and ultimately self-destructive, that the beauty of neon signs is short-lived, and that the interior reality of buildings decorated with neon signs is often one of overspending, waste, and inequality.
